Moisture Vapor Treatments
A moisture vapor treatment can be applied to help prevent further damage in cases where concrete underlayment shows signs of excessive moisture transmission.
We use an epoxy resin top coat that is designed to seal and dry gypsum underlayments, which prevents damage to your flooring system. Our procedure applying a moisture vapour treatment with one part epoxy resin and one part chemical hardener. Once fully mixed, the solution is brushed or rolled on the concrete surface. We allow 8 hours for a full cure.
It should be noted that these products are temperature-sensitive and cannot be applied below 10 degrees Celsius. All of our repairs are warranted and no curing agents will be applied.
Certified Moisture Testing Ontario Concrete
Prior to the moisture vapor treatment is it important to measure the humidity, and a moisture test should be performed. This will help confirm the relative % of moisture and ensure structural integrity of the slab while mitigating any future damage.
